Backyard Builder: Model A Rat Rod

Man, I loved this rod. It’s very well put together. We saw it this summer during Myrtle Beach Bike Week Show at the Hard Rock Cafe. It’s a Model A 2 Door Sedan, chopped and channeled with a late model GM motor, Lake Pipes, Tall White Walls, a roll back rag top and red Steelie Wheels.

I wish we had spoke to the owner. Hey, if this is your hot rod, give us a shout, we’d like to know all of the owner’s details.

Hey Modified 28 This is “D” I along with my crew run this web site Thanx for the respect. And yes we do happen to know a little bit about the hot rod and rat rod kulture. Growing up just out side Detroit its almost impossible to not know how important the auto industry is to the county and the world. My brother and I were raised by one of the most ingenious back yard builders I have ever seen our Father. He was always able to build something from nothing using allot of found and one of parts to build some pretty cool stuff. Everyone at Rat Rodder Alley has a crap load of love for any thing with a motor we live and breath this sh*t! I love everyones bold comments with out it we are just a bunch of sheeple falling in line to follow the herd. We love and respect all our members and viewers its good to see that of our members are not afraid to speak their minds. Well I suppose my rambling has gone on long enough I should get back to work Thanx again for your comments.

I guess the guy that made the trailer queen comment is more observant than any of us. By looking at a couple of photos on a web site he decides in his mind that it must be a trailer queen. I don,t Know how you can make that observation just by looking at some photos. A rat rod can look good be clean and most of all be able to go down the road without coming apart at the seems I personally don,t want to be cruzin behind one of these shotty built rat rods and pieces and pars coming of and hitting my car. Or have some idiot *ss pack my car and destroy in just seconds what took me hundreds of hours to build.

    Modified 28-

He!!atious job! To complete in 4 months is a feat as well.

I’m an x- body man that is looking to build a ride very similiar to yours and I have a few ?’s

1- Any chance of a back seat in your ride for the kiddos?

2- How did you come about the body? Original frame?

3- How much do you have in the build?

    Thanks - Lavarock

  11. Fireblade Graphics says:

Hey, This is one of my friends car.
no it does not have a back seat in it because the frame is channeled out so the body can drop below the axel, also too the air bags for the rear, air tank & ect… are stored in this area also.
i have no idea about how he came across the body. the frame is hand made & i have no clue in how much he spent on it.
If i see him at the next pilot mountain cruise in ill ask him.

any more pics of the inside and bag set up? love the car. would like to see pics. thanks

  15. Adam, wasn’t your car at the cruise in, in the Old Town shopping center last year with a couple others? I own the tattoo shop in the corner and walked out to see it. It definitely was a crowd pleaser and one bad a$$ ride. The one they just had last Friday, had a new build similar to yours that showed up and drew everyone in the lot to it like flies to $hit. He built it at home in his garage and finished it a month ago. Hope to see you and your fine rat up here for the next one! Cheers, Marc
